Questions before buying a computer
The first question you need to ask yourself is why you need a computer and for what purpose you will use it:
- Surf the Internet
- Send and receive e-mail
- Word processing
- Spreadsheet and Money management
- Listen to and record music
- Store and manipulate images
- Play games
When you are sure that you really need a computer then you need to consider what computer to buy.
The most common type of computer is PC. People who are less and less these days use Macintoshes and Apple while still making them they are used primarily for graphics work at the level of high end multimedia.
For the use of your home or Office will probably be much better off buying a desktop PC with pre-installed software. And PC prices on the way down.
Certainly the notebook computer is really great if you want to take advantage of the portability that they offer, even though you really need to weigh this against the cost--as laptops are still much more expensive than the average PC with the same functionality.
You need to determine what capabilities You want your computer to have the hard drive size, memory and the type of card-video and audio-that it comes with.
